As the author of my Lila Jo's young years, I want them to be rich with tradition. Which is why we made the trek back to Hickory Nut Gap in Fairview, NC. Remember our trip from last year? We even stopped in Asheville and ate at the Mellow Mushroom downtown. Tradition? I follow it to a tee.
Despite the weather being a little warmer than maybe a fall tradition should call for...we had a magnificent time. And it was definitely worth going back to a second time. As Lila gets older, we realize life gets more and more fun and entertaining.
When we first arrived, Lila didn't care to do anything except to pick up rocks. This is her new obsession. But then we headed to the pumpkin patch.
And of course, Lila wanted to ride a pumpkin.
She found the perfect one.
I heart this picture so much. Possibly one of my favorites. Ever.
These two are my everything.
So curious about the life cycle of a chicken. :)
Inside the chicken coop.
And she was not afraid.
It was so hot, the pigs were cooling off in the mud.
Walking with Nana to see the horses.
Lila petted a horse for the first time!
Cider-cicle break! These things are hands down the best thing about this fall tradition we've created and Lila Jo got to have her very own this year. And she will have many more this week...because I bought a half-gallon of apple cider:)
Do you see my sweet daughter? She's looking at me like, "Don't you come near my cider-cicle woman. You've already had 3 and this one is MINE!"
Friends again:)
We can't wait to go back next year!!!
