Potty Training

A couple of weeks ago we took Lila to pick out her very own potty and all that goes along with the adventures of potty training. We decided to start with stickers as a reward...and out of all the stickers in the world to choose from, Lila chose neon smiley faces. For some reason, I thought that was funny. She didn't want the 3-d Care Bears or Mickey Mouse. Got mad when I suggested Elmo or princess. She was steadfast and wanted the smiley faces. Simple and bright.

We have a lot of changes happening in our life right now. Moving. Building. New baby. And Lila will turn 2 in a couple of weeks.

We would like to get her potty trained and into a big girl bed before September comes so we're starting to introduce things now. We decided not to force using the potty because we're not really sure she's completely ready (and quite honestly, neither are we). So we're letting her lead the way these first couple of weeks/months. Trying to introduce it to her slowly. Reading books. Talking about it. And putting a potty in the bathroom.

Surprisingly, the day after we brought the potty home, Lila told me she needed to go to the bathroom. And she did. We danced and sang and danced and screamed and yelled and made a ginormous deal out of it. She then got to pick out a sticker to put on her potty. She was excited. But not quite as excited as her daddy and I:)

And she's gone 3 more times:)

She's slowly getting it. But we're in no rush.
I'm very proud of my big girl.
